Martin Brundle F1 grid-walk: Ozzy Osbourne interview in 2003 will always be most iconic

Former Jordan and Bennetton driver Martin Brundle’s renowned Formula 1 grid walks once again made the headlines this past weekend at the Miami Grand Prix after a case of mistaken identity swept across social media.

The pundit has garnered much admiration from fans across the world during his time in the job and has been hosting pre-race grid walks and doorstepping celebrities for 25 years now, with this past weekend showing exactly why he is so beloved.

Very few grid walks have drawn as much attention in the last quarter-century, but this one in south Florida was great value for entertainment.

The 62-year-old was left puzzled by worldwide music stars DJ Khaled and Pharrell Williams, but the moment that stole the hearts of social media was when he mistook NBA draftee, Paolo Banchero, for NFL star Patrick Mahomes.

Khaled gave a very impassioned speech about Miami, while Williams backed Lewis Hamilton to win. This particularly hysterical exchange was a conversation starter between Banchero and Mahomes on Twitter.

The former teammate of Michael Schumacher took to Twitter to state how much he dislikes doing pre-race shows, stating: “There’s a reason I’ve never watched back an F1 grid-walk in a quarter-century of doing them.

The greatest F1 moment ever? Martin Brundle thinking this guy is @PatrickMahomes
