Married man from Vietnam confirmed to have died following devastating Oldham mill fire

Police have confirmed human remains discovered in an Oldham mill following a devastating blaze belong to a married man from Vietnam. Uoc Van Nguyen, 31, had kept in touch with his wife and told her he was in a mill.

At that time of the fire, it was believed no-one was inside. Officers have now confirmed the remains belonged to Uoc, using fingerprint analysis.

Specially trained officers are in direct contact with them and to ensure they are fully updated and supported.
