Marmoush, Ederson - Who Man City must prioritise signing in the January transfer window

Manchester City have been strongly linked with two players in the January transfer window.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker, Omar Marmoush, is one of the in form strikers in Europe at the moment having scored 18 goals in 24 games.

Frankfurt would be looking for a fee in the region of £50million. However, the Eagles sit in 3rd place in the Bundesliga and could be reluctant to sell the Egyptian.

City are also looking at Atalanta’s defensive midfielder, Ederson, having been linked with the Blues for a while, ever since Rodri ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Atalanta are reportedly wanting £50 million for the Brazilian.

Marmoush could be a great addition to Manchester City as he would add versatility and explosiveness, which this current City team needs.

Guardiola likes flexibility and with Frankfurt’s number seven being able to play on both wings as well as being direct but also knowing when to make the right pass, could be the edge City need in order for them to get back into the top four and solidify their place in the Champions League next season alongside Erling Haaland’s poor form in front of goal recently.

The 25-year-old could even come off the bench if Haaland is not performing and add something different, which Pep has tried to do with Doku on the left wing with Jack Grealish, however the Egyptian international has more accuracy and adaptability than the Belgium winger.

City have failed to replace Julian Alvarez in the summer transfer window, following his £81.5 million move to Atletico Madrid.

Marmoush would be the perfect player for the Spanish manager to mould into what he needs for the rest of this season.
