Marks and Spencer's 'trending' £40 cosy layer similar to £900 Burberry cape
With the temperature continuing to drop as we head towards winter, many will be donning extra layers to keep nice and toasty. Ponchos hit some of the major autumn/winter runways earlier this year - and they're definitely making a comeback.
Ultra-luxury fashion and leather goods brand, Hermes, is offering its "H" Rectangular Cape Poncho for a cool £1,440 and the Fendi FF Poncho isn't much cheaper at £1,250. Fortunately, you don't have to shell out thousands of pounds to get the cosy look.
That's because the style is trickling onto the high street - and we've found the chicest poncho at Marks and Spencer. The Brushed Checked Poncho is brand new to the fashion retailer and we expect that it's going to be mega popular this season.

The Brushed Checked Poncho comes in at £39.50 and looks seriously expensive. In fact, while not 100% identical, it bares a significant resemblance to Burberry's Contrast Check Wool Cashmere Cape.
If you were to opt for the luxury version, it would set you back a massive £890. That makes the M&S piece over £850 cheaper.
Both pieces have been crafted in a cosy autumnal colour palette with a checked pattern. The high-end cape features the brand's iconic Burberry House Check while the M&S Collection number uses a similar heritage-inspired pattern throughout.
