Marcus Rashford next club odds as forward considering Manchester United future

Newcastle United are the favourites to sign Marcus Rashford this summer after it was revealed the Manchester United forward is considering his future at Old Trafford.

The Manchester Evening News reported on Monday that Rashford is contemplating his place at United after he was left out of the starting XI once again in Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City. A loss that has seen United fall out of the top four.

Rashford's exclusion was particularly surprising as, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani unavailable, he was the only striker in the squad. However, Ralf Rangnick instead opted to play Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in advanced positions and also started Antony Elanga out wide over him.

It's understood that the 24-year-old is training well and is in good spirits but concedes he hasn't been playing well enough of late. Still, just two Premier League starts in the last 11 games has grown frustrating for Rashford, whose contract expires in 2023 though United hold the option to extend it by a further year.

With Rashford's future now uncertain, speculation has begun as to which club he could join in the summer if he decides to leave his boyhood club. Newcastle, who can now compete for such a high calibre player following their Saudi Arabia-backed takeover, are the favourites at 4/1.

Premier League rivals Tottenham come in second at 6/1. The rest of the five top favourites consists of clubs outside of England, with Inter, Barcelona and Juventus the next most likely according to Betfair.
