Marcus Rashford Manchester United exit takes twist as £10m transfer discount emerges
Ruben Amorim's Manchester United players are expected to start pre-season training this week.
The Reds were last in action during their post-season tour of South East Asia and some players have enjoyed the last five weeks off. Others, meanwhile, haven't had as long due to international action in mid-June and might not team up with the rest of the squad up until a later date.
In the meantime, United have been working hard attempting to get transfers over the line. Matheus Cunha became their first summer signing for £62.5million at the start of last month, and while Diego Leon has since arrived from Cerro Porteno, the club's search for their next marquee addition has been slow.
Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with a move to United but a deal hasn't so far been completed, while the club remain in the market for a new centre forward. With this in mind, Manchester Evening News has taken a look at the latest transfer news from Old Trafford...
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Marcus Rashford and United's plans to resolve his future. He has claimed in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, that a new round of talks will start this week with Rashford accepting he is not part of Ruben Amorim's plans.
It has also been stated that all options are being explored. Barcelona looks to be his favoured destination with a move to the La Liga champions possible after Nico Williams' planned move from Athletic Club fell through.
MEN says: Rashford has to be sold this summer. He is not part of Amorim's plans at Old Trafford and United to recoup a sizeable fee for the 27-year-old, who is going to count as pure profit after coming through the club's academy. I think United need to get at least £40m for his signature.
