Marc Skinner praises Manchester United's 'one club' approach ahead of Old Trafford clash

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner has praised the club's 'one club' approach ahead of Saturday's meeting with West Ham at Old Trafford.

This weekend, as part of Women's Football Weekend, will see the Reds' second fixture at the Theatre of Dreams this season following the 5-0 win over Aston Villa back in December. Staging Women's Super League fixtures at the men's ground is another mark of the support shown by the club's hierarchy and Skinner hopes to see it continue.

He told the media on Wednesday: "It's just a symbol of it (the support from the club). But we see it every day behind the scenes.

"We see how close the teams are, it's one club. We're seeing all of that, every day we see things progress. I can see that and it's tangible, it has to keep growing. I know this club will help that, it's exciting times for us and we just have to keep putting in performances our fans are happy with."

Saturday's clash against the Hammers is another huge fixture for United as they continue their fight for the league title. As things stand, they're currently two points behind Chelsea, having played a game more.

Victory over Paul Konchesky's side will keep their title bid alive and Skinner will hope his side can replicate the 2-0 win over West Ham at the beginning of the campaign. However, the United boss doesn't expect it to be a straightforward game.

He added: "They've not got the results they probably want, but I don't take that. I take it as more of a warning than anything.

"They're going to try and fight. They're not going to want to come to Old Trafford and help us in any way. I think they play with Paul's energy and we have to be ready for that."
