Mandalika Officials to Add Accommodations Ahead of MotoGP Race

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Field commander for the Mandalika MotoGP event in Indonesia Hadi Tjahjanto in a written statement on Wednesday said he is quite satisfied with the preparation for the official test. He also wrote that he plans to present the report to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. 

“I will report all of these preparations to the President,” Hadi wrote on February 9, Antaranews reported. 

During the visit, he was accompanied by the Mandalika Circuit director of operations and ITDC business innovation Arie Prasetyo, Motor Grand Prix Association (MGPA) director Priandhi Satria, and MGPA deputy Cahyadi Wanda. 

The former National Armed Forces (TNI) commander monitored activities in the track’s paddock area, logistical preparedness, and the control area. 

Prior to this, Hadi led the coordination meeting in preparation for the upcoming MotoGP race that will be hosted at this track in March as the official second venue in the racing calendar. He deemed the current accommodations in Lombok will not suffice and therefore, he intends to add more facilities. 

“We will try to build areas for camping and a bobobox (capsule hotel),” he added. “Once it is built, we will then offer them to visitors about these added accommodations.”
