Manchester United youngster Dylan Levitt's Wales hopes dashed after call-up ends prematurely

Manchester United youngster Dylan Levitt has been forced to withdraw from the Wales squad ahead of their friendly against the Czech Republic.

The Welshman has impressed during his loan spell in the Scottish Premiership with Dundee United, with his form earning him a call-up to the Wales squad for this month's fixtures. He was an unused substitute in the dramatic World Cup play-off win over Austria as Gareth Bale fired Rob Page's side to within touching distance of the finals later this year.

Levitt would've hoped to add to his 10 caps for the Dragons this week in their test against the Czech Republic, but he has been forced to withdraw from the squad through illness. As a result, he will return to Tannadice where the Terrors will be hoping he'll be fit enough to feature against Hibernian on Saturday.

"I am really enjoying it at the moment. It is benefiting me as a player and as an individual," the 21-year-old told the MEN Sport earlier this month. "Every loan has got better as they've gone on.

"I think this one has been the best by far. It is always good to know that you are doing well.

"I learned a lot at Charlton and in Croatia as well, and that has helped me here as well. They set me up for what I had come to Dundee United for."
