Manchester United transfer news LIVE Frenkie de Jong updates and Brentford build-up

Manchester United will be targeting their first win of the season when they travel to the Gtech Community Stadium to face Brentford this teatime.

The Reds, who won 3-1 on their first and only visit to this particular corner of west London, will be determined to put last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Brighton behind them and post their first victory of the Erik ten Hag era. United will have no new signings to show off to their fans this evening, with the club having failed to add any new faces to the squad this week.

However, with a little under three weeks to go until the window slams shut, they remain hopeful of getting new faces through the door, with Juventus ace Adrien Rabiot, potentially, set to be next. Football director John Murtough travelled to Turin yesterday to try and help the deal get one step closer to being concluded.

United still want to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, but it remains to be seen if it will be possible. It is almost 100 days since the Reds first registered their interest and they are still yet to make a significant breakthrough.

Meanwhile, reports elsewhere have suggested that Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic is keen on a move to Old Trafford ahead of the window closing.
