Manchester United training squad vs Real Sociedad confirmed as three youngsters included

Anthony Martial did not take part in Manchester United's open first-team training session on Wednesday afternoon.

Martial, 26, has only played 45 minutes this season and he is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury. That injury was sustained shortly after he recovered from a hamstring complaint and he will not be available for Thursday's match against Real Sociedad.

Erik ten Hag provided that update on Martial when speaking at Wednesday's pre-match press conference and United's first-team took to the training pitches at Carrington for an open training session not long after the Dutchman had answered questions from the media.

Ten Hag is expected to rotate his starting line up for Real Sociedad's visit to Old Trafford and Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to start. Ronaldo trained on Wednesday afternoon and he looked in high spirits ahead of the Europa League fixture.

United started two goalkeepers, Martin Dubravka and Tom Heaton on the bench against Arsenal on Sunday, and Donny van de Beek was absent from the squad. Ten Hag confirmed Van de Beek had a knock and he did not train on Wednesday.

Although Aaron Wan-Bissaka was not on the United bench for the Reds' match against Arsenal, he was spotted training ahead of Thursday's fixture versus Real Sociedad, however, Luke Shaw was not spotted and appeared to be missing from open training. Three youngsters were included, 17-year-olds Kobbie Mainoo and Tyler Fredricson and 18-year-old Charlie McNeill.

United's outfield training squad ahead of Real Sociedad:
