Manchester United 'told required fee' for Darwin Nunez and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly been told by Benfica they will need to fork out £100m in order to land Darwin Nunez.

Erik ten Hag is looking to bring in attacking reinforcements for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer with Edinson Cavani leaving and Anthony Martial’s future in doubt. Nunez scored 34 goals for his club this season and has attracted interest from Europe’s top clubs.

The 22-year-old is reportedly on United’s shortlist but, according to the Star, Benfica’s quoted figure has somewhat put them off. However, the club is not backing down from talks in the hope that the fee can be reduced.

Nunez has reportedly changed agents in the hope of securing a big move to an established European side with Benfica finishing third in Liga NOS this season. Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on the youngster.

Meanwhile, United are ready to pounce if Aurelien Tchouameni’s transfer to Real Madrid falls through, according to ESPN. It reports that a tax issue is holding up the deal, which has re-triggered interest from other clubs.

His switch from Monaco is reported to be £68m but he could go for more if the move is called off. United face competition from Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal so says The Sun.
