Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo reacts to breaking world goalscoring record

Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to breaking yet another goal-scoring record.

Into the twilight of his career, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has proved there is plenty left in the tank by scoring 18 goals in 31 appearances for the Old Trafford giants this season. Ronaldo netted a stunning hat-trick in the Premier League against Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

"Nothing but respect for Romario, one of the best strikers of all time!

"Thanks to all the players I've come across throughout my career, thanks to all the clubs that I represented, thanks to all my fans and, above all, thanks to my wonderful family. I couldn't have done it without you."

Ronaldo scored five goals for Sporting before completing his first move to United in 2003. Over two spells with the Old Trafford giants, the Portugal captain has netted
