Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes makes admission on Erik ten Hag's demands

Bruno Fernandes has admitted Manchester United's players will be punished by Erik ten Hag for not following his orders.

United began their pre-season on June 27, which means Ten Hag has now had close to four weeks to work with the squad. It is understood Ten Hag is a strict operator in training and that the players are responding well to the Dutchman's methods.

Ten Hag is straight talking and concise with his instructions, but his direct method of communication seems to be working. United have beat Liverpool, Melbourne City and Crystal Palace in pre-season and performances have been encouraging.

Fernandes, speaking in an interview on tour in Australia this week, has admitted Ten Hag has laid down a 'straight line' with his management and he also revealed that players will be punished if they aren't doing exactly what he demands.

"What brings me confidence is, it's a straight line," Fernandes told Sky Sports. "It's this is what we have to do and anyone who doesn't do it comes out of the team. If everyone understands that we have to follow the rule, follow what the coach demands, follow what the team demands, then everyone will be on the same page and that will make the team be successful

"If the team is successful, everyone will be individually anyway. Some will get more goals, more assists, someone more blocks, probably David [De Gea] will not concede as many goals and everyone will be happy at the end of the season.
