Manchester United shirt numbers available to Matheus Cunha and other potential signings

There is a little over two weeks to go in the summer transfer window and time is running out for Manchester United to finalise their transfer business.

Following Saturday's 4-0 hammering at the hands of Brentford, United and manager Erik ten Hag are desperate to add new additions to the squad. The Reds are bottom of the Premier League table and are in need of fresh blood to try and spark their season into life.

It is in midfield, out wide and up front where United are believed to be focusing all of their energy, with all three positions in desperate need of improvement and competition for places. The Reds are continuing to work on a deal to bring Juventus ace Adrien Rabiot to Old Trafford, while rumours linking other players with moves to M16 continue to rumble on.

The latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is Atletico Madrid striker Matheus Cunha. According to various reports, United have held talks with his agent, but no deal is close to being agreed as things stand.

With the prospect of United adding Cunha and other new signings to the squad before the window closes, it could be a busy period for the kit man, tasked with printing new names and numbers on the back of shirts. Vacated by goalkeeper Lee Grant at the end of last term, the No.13 shirt is up for grabs for the first time since 2018 for a new recruit. Prior to Grant adopting it four years ago, it was donned by Anders Lindegaard.
