Manchester United's run-in compared to Tottenham and Aston Villa in Champions League race

Manchester United will put their top four push to one side this weekend as they prepare to focus on their FA Cup quarter-final showdown with Liverpool at Old Trafford.

United progressed to the last eight of the competition last month with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Casemiro headed in a late winner to keep the Reds' hopes of winning a trophy this season alive.

Though winning the FA Cup remains a leading objective for United, they are also desperate to secure Champions League qualification for next season. They are currently eight points shy of the final qualification spot with just 10 Premier League games remaining.

United cut the gap on fourth-placed Aston Villa to eight points on Saturday, beating Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford. Villa lost 4-0 to fellow top four hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur the following day, meaning those two are now separated by just two points.

Though United are still playing catch-up in pursuit of a top four finish, all is not lost for Erik ten Hag's men just yet. However, we are heading towards a critical stage in the season where every goal and every point can have a massive impact.
