Manchester United's next six Premier League fixtures compared with Aston Villa and Tottenham

Manchester United moved to within five points of the Premier League's top four with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Sunday afternoon.

Rasmus Hojlund continued his impressive run of form, scoring twice inside the opening seven minutes to put United in a commanding position from the off. However, Luton responded well to those two early setbacks, getting themselves on the scoresheet with just 14 minutes played via Carlton Morris.

Though United had chances to restore their two-goal cushion in the second half, the best of which fell to Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, Luton fought until the very last whistle in pursuit of a share of the spoils. United have now won each of their last four league matches.

Though Aston Villa won on Saturday, beating Fulham 2-1, Tottenham Hotspur slipped up, losing by the same scoreline at home to Wolves. United are now just three points behind the Londoners in the standings and five short of Villa.

With the race for Champions League qualification hotting up, MEN Sport has had a look at United's next six league fixtures and compared them to those of their nearest competitors chasing the same goal.

Verdict: Though the clash with Sheffield United will be rearranged if United progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup later this month, United's upcoming crop of fixtures feature a blend of different challenges. However, with the exception of the trip to the Etihad Stadium to face City in a fortnight's time, they will enter the bulk of them as favourites.

United must secure maximum points from the home clashes with Fulham and Everton
