Manchester United's dream starting XI with two more signings after Casemiro

There is potential for the remaining days of the transfer window to be absolute chaos.

With so many teams desperately scrambling to sort their teams out before the deadline on September 1, there's going to be a lot of money thrown about, a lot of silly moves and the potential for some jaw-dropping ones as well. And all that's just at Manchester United! The appalling start to Erik ten Hag's reign has served as a much-needed wake-up call to the club that serious additions are needed before it's too late.

The club have made a good start in attending to that after agreeing a fee with Real Madrid for the transfer of the excellent defensive-midfielder Casemiro. His imminent arrival all but spells the end of United's lengthy Frenkie de Jong chase, which may well come as a disappointment to Ten Hag, but now he at least has the destroyer United are in much more need of than a controlling midfielder.

In an ideal world, United may keep tabs on De Jong and still get him in too if the stand-off with Barcelona is ever resolved, because what a midfield that would suddenly be. But that's somewhat fanciful, especially when United still have several other areas that require urgent strengthening.

It may be too late for anyone to come in who can dislodge David de Gea despite his obvious unsuitability to Ten Hag's ideal style of play, so his place in the starting XI seems pretty secure for the time being. But a competitive backup, who can push the Spaniard, needs to be brought in.

As does a new right-back. Ten-Hag's feelings on Aaron Wan-Bissaka are obvious and he may well be out of the door before the window closes, but Diogo Dalot still hasn't proven a capable replacement. The only
