Manchester United ‘rejected approach’ for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and more transfer deadline day rumours

Manchester United have reportedly turned down interest from West Ham for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Reds were willing to offload the defender this summer but had failed to receive any formal offers for the Englishman, and with a shortfall of right-back options behind Diogo Dalot, Erik ten Hag revealed last week that he will stay at Old Trafford for the time being.

"I have trust in him,” the United boss said of Wan-Bissaka. "What I heard and what I noticed from the past, he is a good option. He’s been training and needs to compete for the position."

Dalot is considered first choice by Ten Hag and has started all four matches this season leaving Wan-Bissaka braced for limited game time. TalkSPORT reports that West Ham today approached United for the 24-year-old with the lure of offering more minutes, but that this was rebuffed.

Discussions with Barcelona over a possible loan deal for Sergino Dest continue but Wan-Bissaka is being kept in case an agreement cannot be secured before the deadline.

Meanwhile, it’s been claimed United officials have told Ten Hag not to buy any more players from Ajax. The Dutchman has signed two stars from his former club in Lisandro Martinez and Antony.

Journalist Achraf Ben Ayad (via the Express ) says the 52-year-old was told by senior figures to refrain from taking any more assets from the Dutch champions, the Reds already handing them more than £130m this summer for the two aforementioned signings.
