Manchester United have an obvious advantage over Liverpool FC in Champions League battle
Ahead of Saturday's 1-0 win over Brentford at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp played down his side's chances of finishing inside the top four this season, backing Manchester United to pick up the points they need to get the job done.
However, after his side saw off the Bees just 24 hours ahead of United being beaten 1-0 by West Ham United at the London Stadium, the German might be feeling a little bit more optimistic about the Merseysiders' chances of sneaking into the top four. They are now just one point behind United in the standings, meaning we suddenly have a race on our hands.
One important caveat to remember, though, is that United have four games left and Liverpool have three. The Reds are still playing catch up with their Premier League schedule after progressing to the FA Cup final.

United do not play their game in hand, which is against Chelsea at Old Trafford, until May 25, just three days before the final day of the season. It means, depending on how the next two rounds of fixtures go, Erik ten Hag's side could be in need of a significant result against the Stamford Bridge club.
United, of course, have lost each of their last two games, losing 1-0 to both Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham on the road. Both fixtures presented good opportunities for them to get some more points on the board and consolidate their position inside the top four.
Instead, they slipped up and Liverpool have taken full advantage, winning their last two games as part of a six-game winning run. They have found form at just the right time.
But even though United's current wobble does generate justified concerns, they should take comfort from the fact three of their last four
