Manchester United Flop Bebe Scores Sensational 35-Yard Free-Kick In Copa Del Rey Semi-Final

Rayo were losing 1-0 to Real Betis in the Copa Del Rey semi-final but the Portuguese player pulled his side out of the muck and levelled the two-legged tie with a bit of individual brilliance.

Bebe was around 35 yards out and stood over a free-kick. Using a knuckleball technique that produced a serious dip on the ball, the 31-year-old thwacked the ball into the top corner and wheeled away in utter euphoria.

The scenes were just tremendous and it's hard to believe this is the same player who looked like he couldn't even kick a ball during his time at United back in the day.

Unfortunately for Bebe Rayo were unable to kick on from the worldie set-piece strike and conceded a 92nd minute goal from Betis' Borja Iglesias, who sent the Andalusian outfit into the final, where they will play Valencia on 23 April.

He received a £500,000 signing on fee when he made the move.

But the winger made just seven competitive appearances for the 13-time Premier League winners, scoring two goals.

He left for Benfica, arguably the biggest club in his native Portugal, in 2014, after three loan spells away.

And he described being told he was getting the move as "the best moment of his life".

"I am a 'Benfiquista', it was a dream to play there because all my friends and my family supported Benfica. I did not sleep that day! I spent the whole day awake."

Bebe is currently in his third spell with Rayo, having joined permanently in 2018.
