Manchester United fans troll Darwin Nunez after Facundo Pellistri shares picture with Liverpool star

Manchester United fans were quick to react after youngster Facundo Pellistri posted a picture of himself and Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez on social media.

The 20-year-old winger, who arrived at Old Trafford in October 2020, scored in the 4-0 pre-season win over Liverpool in Bangkok earlier this summer.

Earlier this month, United manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that Pellistri would be sidelined until at least September because of an ankle injury. He was forced off in the closing stages of United's 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in their penultimate pre-season friendly.

However, despite having only just returned from his injury, Pellistri was called up to the Uruguay squad for their upcoming friendlies against Iran and Canada.

The youngster is yet to feature competitively for United's first-team, but has been named on the bench twice - against Paris Saint-Germain and Basaksehir FK in 2020. However, the Uruguayan winger has made six appearances - starting in five - for his country, also recording three assists.

Shortly after arriving for international duty, Pellistri posted a picture on Twitter and Instagram of himself and new Liverpool signing Nunez.

The Merseyside outfit's summer arrival has endured a difficult stat to life at Anfield. He was sent off in Jurgen Klopp's side's Premier League draw with Crystal Palace last month. However, he has registered two goals and one assist in his six appearances in all competitions.
