Manchester United fans make Hannibal Mejbri demand after Liverpool performance

Many fans thought that Manchester United's season could not get any worse while others still held some hope that given the poor form of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur the club still had a chance of a top-four spot. However, a lot of the optimism was washed away by the club's performance against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

With a 5-0 loss against their rivals this season already under their belt, United fans feared the worst but they couldn't have truly expected how bad their team would perform with their backs already against the wall. Liverpool won 4-0 but it was the reaction from the players that truly caught the eye, from the minute the first goal went in, many were walking about and showing a clear lack of desire.

When Jadon Sancho was subbed on at halftime, the team looked to gain some footing in the game but could not make the most of any of their chances; only mustering a single shot on target before Liverpool added two more goals. Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were brutal in the commentary, calling the team 'a waste of space' and 'embarrassing' on multiple occasions.

Bruno Fernandes seemed to sum up the sombre mood among the players and also the lack of the desire by saying in his post-match interview: "Liverpool are fighting for the title. We don't fight for anything, that's the difference." And it seems since the team's exit from the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid, whatever wind was left in United's sails has well and truly departed.
