Manchester United fans angered by Old Trafford roof leaking again as takeover saga continues

A number of Manchester United fans were soaked due to the leaky roof at Old Trafford during the Crystal Palace game.

United were defeated 1-0 by Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and conditions were difficult during the match, with the Manchester rain coming down and leaking through the stadium's roof.

There have been leaks spotted around Old Trafford when it's rained heavily over the last few years and a new video has emerged on social media highlighting a leak in the Stretford End.

The video, which had been seen 2.5 million times on X at the time of writing, formerly known as Twitter, shows rain coming through the roof and a group of fans who are supposed to be protected from the weather being soaked.

The supporter wrote: "It was a wet one at Old Trafford today. The Glazers need to invest in fixing the roof of the stadium."

Club sources have said that any leaks at Old Trafford are fixed immediately after they have been identified.

A clip showing a heavy downpour through the Old Trafford roof also went viral prior to the Manchester derby in 2019 and there have been other clips circulating online since showing rain leaking through the concourse.

United fans overwhelmingly want the Glazers to sell the club and figures posted by football financial expert Kieran Maguire in response to the leak show the American family have spent just £98m on infrastructure during 2010 and 2021.

The Glazers announced in November they were 'exploring strategic alternatives' for the club, which included the possibility of selling it, but there have been multiple rounds of bidding and there's no resolution in sight.
