Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof breaks silence on worrying incident vs Norwich

Manchester United central defender Victor Lindelof insists there have been "no more problems" since he was replaced against Norwich in worrying circumstances.

The incident occurred with 16 minutes remaining at Carrow Road in December and the physios were called onto the pitch after the Sweden international felt discomfort in his chest. It would be the last game that United played during a busy Christmas schedule after a Covid-19 outbreak within the camp. And upon the resumption, Lindelof was absent for three matches through illness.

He returned just shy of a month later for United's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa as he deputised for Harry Maguire who dropped to the bench. In their last five Premier League fixtures, Lindelof has started all but one and sat out of the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Lindelof is currently away on international duty with Sweden and is likely to start their World Cup qualifying showdown with Czech Republic tomorrow (Tuesday) night. After being quizzed on the incident, he said via Sport Witness: "I have done all the tests you need to do and there have been no more problems.

"It’s not something I think about now. There’s nothing that I’m worried about. I feel 100% and am completely confident in the situation."
