Manchester United could strike summer transfer after FFP charge with Erik ten Hag signing

Manchester United could potentially benefit from the latest Premier League charges with the club linked with summer transfer interest in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Leicester City midfielder has been one of the standout players in the Championship this season with the club fighting at the top of the table. The Foxes did look a sure bet for an immediate return to the top flight, but a stumble over the last few weeks has seen the chasing pack close the gap.

Leicester now also have a Premier League charge hanging over them. It was announced on Thursday evening that the club have been charged by the league for an alleged breach of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) and for failing to submit their financial accounts to the top flight.

The charge will now be heard by the independent commission, with a points deduction at the start of next season a possibility if they are promoted and found to have breached regulations. Leicester released a strong statement saying that it’s ‘surprised’ by the actions and will ‘defend itself from any unlawful acts by the football authorities.’

It has previously been reported that Leicester are close to the limit for the period ending this season. They could therefore be forced to sell players, even if promoted.

This is where United could move. According to 90min, the club are showing an interest in Dewsbury-Hall and an ‘initial enquiry’ has been made to the player’s camp.
