Manchester United announce 14 first-year scholars including new signing

Manchester United have confirmed their intake of first-team scholars ahead of the 2022/23 season with 14 players offered terms.

Many of those on the list have already represented United in higher age groups, with defender Louis Jackson starting in the Youth Cup final triumph over Nottingham Forest last month.

The list of scholars, all of whom are under the age of 17, also features one new signing in the shape of goalkeeper Elyh Harrison who joins the club from Stevenage.

The rest of the list is comprised of players who predominantly featured for United at U16 level last season, though a few already have experience at U18s level.

Adam Berry, Ruben Curley, Finley McAllister, Jack Moorhouse, Habeeb Ogunneye and Malachi Sharpe all featured at least three times for United’s Under-18s last campaign, with the club committed to promoting youngsters through the age groups in order to aid their development.

United will be hoping for another successful season at U18s level next year, having won the Youth Cup and finishing third in the U18 Premier League last time out.
