Manchester to bake in the heat this week with temperatures higher than Barcelona

Manchester is set to bask in heat for the next few days - making us even hotter than parts of the sunny continent. The city is set to see highs of 27 o C in the coming days, while the forecast in Barcelona, a destination usually associated with sun seeking, is a cooler 25 o C with rain.

Wednesday in Manchester sees the sun continuing to shine with highs of 24 o C with not a cloud in the sky, according to the Met Office. And the hot weather doesn't stop there. Thursday will bring the best of the warm weather this week, with temperatures reaching a scorching 27 o C.

You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in Nice, which will also only see highs of 27 o C. Manchester will very much be the place to be on Thursday, with Barcelona a cooler 25 o C.

Unfortunately for us things look to take a turn for the worse from Friday into the weekend, with the famous rain set to return.

The region will still be a warm 21 o C on Friday, but rain is expected from 1pm onwards.

And there are no improvements from there, the Met Office says, with rain expected through to Monday, with temperatures dropping to a cooler 18 o C.
