Manchester mum who has gone viral with yellow sticker haul shares her supermarket saving tips

A Manchester mum-of-four who shares yellow sticker hauls on TikTok has revealed her tips for finding a bargain.

Chelle Bailey, from Wythenshawe, set up her TikTok account at the height of the pandemic in 2020 – since racking up almost 20,000 followers. The 37-year-old focuses mostly on family-based content including round-ups of reduced items bought from local supermarkets.

The savvy spender regularly uploads hauls from stores including Tesco and Sainsbury’s and has now shared advice on how to save money when it comes to a food shop. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, she said: “I always look for bargains anyway, I’m the sort of person who is thinking about next Christmas on Boxing Day.

“When I started TikTok, there were more mums that started following me so I thought they might be interested in (the shopping hauls). They do go down pretty well – even more so with how everything is at the moment.

“I make a point by saying Sainsbury’s strawberries will last longer than what I’ve found with any other supermarket. It’s also important not to get sucked into the fact it’s a yellow sticker – it has to be something you will use.”

Chelle advises visiting supermarkets for yellow sticker items towards the end of the day – particularly late afternoon or closing time. “If you wait a bit later towards the end of the night, they’re going to redo the stickers they have just done,” she continued. “A lot of the items are for that day so they’re not going to put the stickers on too early because they are hoping people will pay full price.
