The seventh and final team participating was confirmed on Saturday night when the final of the Copa Libertadores took place. The South America equivalent of the Champions League showpiece saw Brazilian side Fluminense beat Argentine big-hitters Boca Juniors 2-1 after extra time in a game where both teams finished with 10 men.

The Blues will face either Urawa Red Diamonds or Club Leon in the second semi-final while on the other side of the draw, Al Ittihad or Auckland City meet in the first round with the winners taking on Al Ahly. The winners of that tie will face Fluminense in the last four.
