Man Utd v Southampton: Mourinho impersonated Pogba for being too casual in 2018

Jose Mourinho vs Paul Pogba was quite the feud.

The two massive footballing personalities worked together at Manchester United for a number of years and to say they didn’t get on would be something of an understatement.

Mourinho once famously said that Pogba would never captain United again while he was in charge and he also demoted the Frenchman to the bench towards the end of his reign as manager.

The pair had so many clashes that it’s hard to remember them all, although we’ve stumbled upon a hilarious one that’s rarely talked about these days and as such, we feel it’s necessary to look back on it.

In December 2018, a stuttering United side were held to a 2-2 draw by then relegation-threatened Southampton on the south coast.

Goals from Cedric Soares and Stuart Armstrong had the Saints 2-0 up inside 20 minutes, although Ander Herrera and Romelu Lukaku made sure the teams went in at half-time level.

United were unable to complete the turnaround in the second half and in the final 10 minutes of the match, Mourinho became visibly frustrated with Pogba.

It was certainly a game to forget for the former Juventus man – he received a 2/10 rating from Manchester Evening News – and at one point, he was so casual on the ball that Mourinho decided to humorously impersonate the player while the BT Sport cameras were on him.

The Portuguese certainly wasn’t joking around when Pogba lost the ball just seconds later, though…
