Man Utd: Tom Huddlestone's brilliant late assist for U21 side vs Fleetwood
Tom Huddlestone produced another moment of magic for Manchester United‘s Under-21 side on Tuesday evening.
At the start of October, the former Tottenham Hotspur man conjured up a brilliant assist for Alejandro Garnacho to score a goal against Barrow in the Papa John’s Trophy (or the as it’s known on Twitter these days, the Pizza Cup).
And Huddlestone, who will turn 36 in December, was at it again in the same competition on Tuesday, this time against Fleetwood Town.
In the second minute of stoppage-time with United trailing 2-1, the Englishman found Shola Shoretire inside the box with a pass that was the Oxford Dictionary definition of 'through the eye of a needle'.
The young striker duly accepted the gift from his veteran teammate. Shoretire collected the ball, spun magnificently and fired it into the bottom corner to level the scores at Highbury Stadium.
It really was a wonderful late equaliser from United's development side and watching Huddlestone roll back the years in a Red Devils jersey is still quite something.
