Man Utd: Ten Hag 'wants to fix' £63m star at Old Trafford

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford needs to step his game up to prove that he deserves to be in Erik ten Hag’s plans, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Rashford has had a disappointing campaign, struggling to find his best form since Ralf Rangnick became United’s interim manager back in November.

The 46-cap international has been some way off his best this term, which has led to him spending plenty of time on the bench, particularly in the second half of the season.

There have been reports in recent months claiming that the 24-year-old is considering his future at Old Trafford due to his lack of game time.

However, following the appointment of Erik ten Hag last week, Rashford is now keen to speak to the incoming boss to find out where he stands, ahead of making a decision on his future.

Jones feels ten Hag will have been informed about how off the pace Rashford has been during the current campaign.

He has suggested that ten Hag wants to get Rashford back to his best, though, but has admitted that the player himself must take some responsibility if he wants to get back on track at United.

Speaking about Rashford, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s been poor, and those reports will have been fed back into ten Hag. Now, the first thing that ten Hag wanted to know when he took over was: ‘what is wrong with Marcus Rashford? How can we fix him?’

“So, he will try to do that, but I think that Marcus Rashford has really got a lot of work to do to get himself back into those plans.”

Like a number of players at United, it seems that Rashford needs this season to end as quickly as possible, and then try to come back stronger in August.
