Man Utd: Ten Hag overseeing 'unbelievable situation' at Old Trafford

Manchester United‘s recent turnaround under Erik ten Hag has been “unbelievable”, according to insider Dean Jones.

The Red Devils were bottom of the Premier League after losing their opening two league games, only to win four games on the bounce to move three points behind of leaders Arsenal.

Expectations were high at Old Trafford following a productive pre-season campaign, which included a 4-0 victory over Liverpool.

But all of that hard work was quickly put to waste when United turned in two underwhelming performances against Brighton and Brentford, which saw them slip to the foot of the standings.

Ten Hag’s side finally got up and running against bitter rivals Liverpool when goals from Jadon Sancho and Rashford secured a first win as United boss for the Dutchman.

And United have gone from strength to strength, beating Southampton and Leicester 1-0 before recording another big Old Trafford victory against Arsenal on Sunday to make it four straight wins for the first time since April 2021.

Suddenly, the Red Devils have climbed to fifth, just one point behind fourth place Brighton and a further two behind Arsenal.

Considering United were thumped 4-0 at Brentford less than four weeks ago, Jones has recognised the “unbelievable turnaround” Ten Hag has managed in such a short period of time.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “They look 100 per cent better than they did the first two games of the season, so that’s a massive improvement.

“You look at the team now, three points off the top, it’s been an unbelievable turnaround in the past four games to have got themselves into that position.”

United might have already played two of their top six rivals but the fixture list doesn’t get much easier.
