Man Utd: Ten Hag could get 'unbelievable lift' with huge change at Old Trafford

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag would enjoy an ‘unbelievable’ lift if Sir Jim Ratcliffe succeeds in his bid to complete a takeover at Old Trafford, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Glazer family, led by Malcolm, have been in control of the Red Devils since striking a £790million deal in 2005, but there is increasing speculation that a change at boardroom level could be on the cards.

According to The Times, Ratcliffe wants to buy a stake in Manchester United and is prepared to hold talks with the Glazers.

The report suggests the 69-year-old, who boasts a personal fortune estimated at £6.33billion, is hoping to negotiate a deal which has a view to taking full control of the Red Devils.

However, it is understood that Ratcliffe has not gained a response from the Glazer family since publicly announcing his interest in Manchester United and the Americans have given no indication of being willing to sell the club.

Despite that, Ratcliffe has put plans in place ahead of a potential takeover and would like to appoint Paris Saint-Germain advisor Luis Campos as the Red Devils’ new sporting director.

But the billionaire is facing competition from Chelsea as the Blues have reportedly offered Campos a contract worth just shy of £7million-per-year as they look to fill the same position at Stamford Bridge.

Jones believes the atmosphere would change if the Glazer family walked away from Manchester United and handed Ratcliffe the keys to Old Trafford.

The journalist feels it would create scenes similar to when Cristiano Ronaldo headed back to the club last year and after Antony found the back of the net on his debut against Arsenal earlier this month.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Inside Old Trafford, the lift would be unbelievable.
