Man Utd: PSG could make shock move for £27m star at Old Trafford

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo could become a target for PSG, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook when speaking to GiveMeSport earlier this week.

The £27m-rated star has expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford following their failure to finish in the top four.

According to The Times, the Portugal international wants to end his second spell with the Red Devils, less than 12 months after he made a sensational return from Juventus.

The report states that the 37-year-old has been left unhappy by United’s sixth place finish, with Ronaldo desperate to continue his near-two decade run of playing in the Champions League.

Earlier this month, The Athletic reported that Chelsea were considering a move for the five times European Cup winner following a meeting between co-owner Todd Boehly and Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent.

But the same outlet have since revealed that the Blues are no longer pursuing a deal for Ronaldo despite their need for a striker following Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have also ruled themselves out of making a move, meaning Ronaldo could be forced to stay at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, Crook failed to rule out the possibility of reigning French champions PSG launching a shock bid, which would see Ronaldo team up with Lionel Messi.

When asked where Ronaldo could end up, he told GIVEMESPORT: “PSG, you’d have thought they’ve got enough egos, although I know the owners there fancy the idea of bringing in another statement signing, like Ronaldo.”

Despite Ronaldo asking United for a transfer, staying at Old Trafford is not completely out of the question.
