Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has sent Ralf Rangnick an apparent tip after Cristiano Ronaldo's absence from Sunday's derby game.

Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both struck two goals each as City condemned rivals Manchester United to a humbling 4-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

But superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't even in Manchester for the crunch fixture in a move that reportedly surprised his United teammates.

And Guardiola even commented on the Portuguese striker's absence as he appeared to give counterpart Ralf Ranick a tip over how he should line up his side.

It comes after Sir Alex Ferguson was harassed by a Manchester City supporter after the match.

A Manchester City fan harrassed legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson following Sunday's derby.

Sir Alex had attended the Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium as he witnessed his old side being thrashed 4-1.

But as he was making his way to his vehicle after the final whistle, Sir Alex was approached by a goading fan, who used the ex-United manager's own words against him as he made fun at the Red Devils legend.
