Cristiano Ronaldo could be about to get his way over Manchester United's pending managerial appointment.

United chiefs have appointed Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis until the end of the season following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking last November. And they now have a four-man shortlist of candidates ahead of a permanent appointment this summer – with Ronaldo thought to have a clear favourite among those under consideration.

It comes as Cristiano Ronaldo Jr and Kai Rooney were both on the scoresheet in the same Manchester United academy game. And the Red Devils' summer transfer priority has become clear with four new arrivals reportedly being planned for.
