Man Utd: £27m star will 'weigh up' Old Trafford exit

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo could consider an exit in January, says transfer insider Dean Jones.

It was widely reported that the 37-year-old wanted to leave Old Trafford during the summer transfer window, and Jones does not think this saga is over yet.

It is probably fair to say that things are not going quite to plan for Ronaldo. The £27m-rated Portuguese forward has started just one of United’s six Premier League games so far and is yet to score a goal.

And with Erik ten Hag’s men playing extremely well right now, recently picking up a 3-1 win against Arsenal, there is no guarantee that he will get back into the team.

Ronaldo was already unsettled heading into this campaign. According to The Times, the former Juventus player had asked to leave the club following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Should he remain on the Old Trafford bench, you would expect him to become even more disgruntled with life at the Premier League outfit.

After failing to get a move this summer, Jones thinks Ronaldo could try to leave United again in January.

Speaking about his future and current predicament at the club, the journalist told GIVEMESPORT: “I think he’ll weigh it up. This isn’t the end of the saga but, for now, he’s on board with the plan. You saw him clapping Antony’s goal.

“He has to buy into this [not always starting] at this stage of his career. It was inevitable that it was going to happen at some point, and he’s got to manage it carefully over the next few months.”

Things are going well for United right now, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and new signing Antony flourishing. Both players were on the scoresheet in that recent victory against Arsenal.
