There's less than 48 hours until the start of the January transfer window and Manchester United could be among the busiest Premier League clubs in the winter market.

Head coach Ruben Amorim is keen to strengthen up his squad as they look to build on a positive first-half of the season, with the Reds sitting sixth in the table after 18 matches. United spent close to £240million on transfers in the summer, but that amount could rise if the Reds decide to sign players in January.

They are in the shop window for a new central midfielder, with Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson and Brighton's Carlos Baleba high up on their wanted list. Joao Gomes could be an alternative, with the Wolves man - who plays against United tonight - linked with a move away from Molineux next month.
