Man United transfer news LIVE: Bruno Guimaraes 'meeting', Lewis-Skelly move, Casemiro 'talks'
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the latest Manchester United transfer news from the MEN.
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, speculation has increased around who could replace Casemiro when the midfielder leaves upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.
Last week, it was reported that United are tracking five Premier League midfielders including Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson.
Since then, Tonali's Newcastle teammate Bruno Guimaraes has emerged as United's number one candidate for the midfield position, though it's understood the Reds want to sign two players in that position. Guimaraes is said to have a 'gentleman's agreement' in place to leave his current club this summer.
Elsewhere, Marcus Rashford's future is in the balance with Barcelona contemplating triggering the £26million buy option in his loan contract. With that uncertain, the forward has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Chelsea.
Below is the latest United transfer news...
According to RTI Esporte, Manchester United have held internal discussions about keeping Casemiro at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.
Casemiro's current contract expires in the summer but it's reported that United are considering handing the Brazilian a new deal and keeping him at the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a meeting took place a couple of weeks ago between Bruno Guimaraes' agent and Manchester United.
Romano explained that United maintain a 'very good' relationship with Guimaraes' camp and that the Reds 'appreciate' the player.
But, at this stage, the situation is no more than meetings and interest with Newcastle manager Eddie Howe
