The treble-winning team of 1999 under Sir Alex Ferguson will be forever remembered after writing themselves into Manchester United and football history.

Other talents of iconic status include Wayne Rooney. Blessed with an eye for goal, Rooney went on to score 253 times for the Red Devils in all competitions and became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

But all good things must come to an end and whilst some of the Manchester United icons hung up their boots as Red Devils, others moved onto pastures new.
