Man United icon Cristiano Ronaldo sends Elon Musk eight-word message after 'big' win

Elon Musk congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo after Al Nassr's latest win in the AFC Champions League Elite, and the former Manchester United player has now responded.

Ronaldo, 39, scored twice for the Saudi Pro League side as they beat Qatar Stars League side Al Gharafa away in Al Rayyan. Former Newcastle United and Stoke City striker Joselu, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, scored a consolation for the hosts after the brace and a goal from the one-time Chelsea winger Angelo Gabriel.

Ronaldo shared a photo of himself and the latter doing his Siu celebration during the match on the social media platform Musk owns, X, formerly Twitter, afterwards. Eight minutes after posting, "Big win tonight!" Musk replied.

"Congrats!" the businessman wrote, to which Ronaldo eventually responded approaching 20 hours later: "@elonmusk … Glad your eyes have time for good “soccer”"

He punctuated that response with a grinning face emoji and a flexed biceps emoji. The original post has over 68 million views, and Ronaldo has almost 114 million followers on the website, some 100 million less than Musk's 206 million.

The win comes three days after Al Nassr lost for the first time in the Saudi Pro League this season at home to Al Qadisiyah. Despite taking the lead through Ronaldo, the Mexico international Julian Quinones equalised before former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored what proved to be the winning goal.

Al Nassr has won just one of its last five domestic matches. They also drew with Al Hilal and Al Kholood and were knocked out of the King Cup of Champions by Al Taawoun.

However, they have now qualified for the Champions League knockout stages with three games to spare. They sit second in the West Region table -
