Man United are facing a transfer dilemma that could seal Erik ten Hag's fate

Manchester United face a potential transfer dilemma this summer amid claims that Scott McTominay is receiving interest from abroad.

Recent reports in Turkish media outlet Milliyet have claimed that Galatasaray have submitted a combined offer of €25million, to around £20m, for McTominay and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Both players have just a year left on their contracts, though the Scotland international's deal includes an option for a further year.

But the reported offer won't go far with United unlikely to entertain such a low fee. They do however face an interesting conundrum with McTominay as they look to balance the books by staying in line with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The midfielder has risen through United's academy, meaning that he will represent pure profit if sold. A potential sale could significantly boost United's PSR situation which states that clubs are not allowed to lose more than £105m over three seasons.

McTominay was of interest to West Ham last summer with United rejecting a £30m bid from the Hammers. And Erik ten Hag will have been relieved that the Scot remained at Old Trafford after scoring some crucial goals in 2023/24.

The 27-year-old netted a career-best 10 goals across all competitions for United in 23/24 which included winning moments against Brentford and Chelsea when United's manager was under pressure.
