Man United: 6'2 England man tipped to push for Old Trafford exit

Dean Henderson will want to leave Manchester United this summer, according to ex-Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer.

The England goalkeeper has been starved of opportunities this season and has made just a handful of appearances for the Red Devils.

Having regularly challenged David De Gea for the number one spot last term, Henderson has been unable to get close to dislodging the Spaniard as first choice this campaign.

Henderson, who earns £120,000-per-week, hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League, with his three appearances coming in the cups and a dead rubber Champions League group stage game against Young Boys in December.

He only signed a new contract at Old Trafford 18 months ago, following his return from Sheffield United, but Henderson appears further away than ever of taking control of the gloves.

With Manchester United out of the FA Cup, the £16.2m-rated keeper might possibly have played his last game for the club if he opts to move on this summer in search of more regular first-team football.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “De Gea is now bang in form and as you’ll see Henderson will probably want to leave in the summer to go and play.”

Given the potential he showed during his loan spell with Sheffield United in 2019-2020, the 24-year-old isn’t likely to be short of interest, and that proved to be the case in January.

While Ralf Rangnick stopped him from leaving Old Trafford, Tottenham were monitoring Henderson’s situation, although a move to North London is now unlikely after Hugo Lloris penned a new two-year contract last month.
