Man City vs Liverpool: Ederson showed ridiculous composure on goal line
Ederson isn’t wired like most other goalkeepers.
The Manchester City shot-stopper is calmness personified with the ball at his feet and regularly takes huge risks when playing out from the back.
Usually, Ederson does it with style and grace, but there are the rare occasions in which he makes a slight error.
However, when the former Benfica man doesn’t keep control of the ball perfectly, he also possesses the elite-level composure required to bail himself out of a tough situation.
That was evident for all to see in the first half of City’s blockbuster clash against Premier League title rivals Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
With the scores level at 1-1 following Kevin De Bruyne and Diogo Jota’s strikes at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson looked as if he was about to gift the visitors a second goal.
The City ‘keeper miscontrolled a pass right by his own goal line and Jota looked primed to step in and fire Liverpool in front as a result.
But Ederson somehow didn’t panic one iota. Instead, he simply strutted over to the ball and passed it to a teammate while Jota was only a matter of inches away.
To say the move was ‘ice-cold’ would be something of an understatement…
