Manchester City get their pre-season underway in the early hours of Thursday morning as they take on Club America in Houston.

City are returning back to action a lot later than their Premier League rivals but Pep Guardiola's side will finally take to the field when they play their first of two friendlies in the United States against the Mexican outfit.

It could be a new-look City side, too, with Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez and Stefan Ortega all hoping to pull on the shirt for the first time.

The Blues are without Phil Foden, John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan and Aymeric Laporte who haven't made the trip across the pond and Aleks Zinchenko who has left to finalise a move to Arsenal but Guardiola has plenty of options as several of the club's promising youngsters are in the squad.
