Man City vs Borussia Dortmund prediction and odds: City expected to bag three more Champions League points

Manchester City are now as short as 1/10 to top UEFA Champions League Group G after their 4-0 demolition of Sevilla on matchday one and the layers don't see Pep Guardiola's side slipping up when Borussia Dortmund come to town on Wednesday.

The Premier League champions are a hugely prohibitive 2/11 with Betway to bag another three points while Dortmund are a whopping 12/1 to cause what would have to be considered a major upset.

City haven't played since their romp in Seville so they should be heading into this game with a freshness and enthusiasm that their opponents are missing. Dortmund come into this on the back of a second Bundesliga loss of the season - a 3-0 drubbing at RB Leipzig - now under the stewardship of Marco Rose, who was sacked by Dortmund in the summer.

It was by some distance Dortmund's worst performance of the season, at both ends of the pitch but particularly offensively, where they couldn't muster a single shot on target. No surprise then, that they failed to find the net for the first time this season.

The loss of Haaland was always going to be a major blow for Dortmund offensively and, while Sebastian Haller - who was signed to replace Haaland - remains out of the picture, then there is a need for others to chip in with goals.

And prior to the weekend defeat, that's exactly what has happened - indeed their eight goals in the Bundesliga have been shared out between seven different players. Marco Reus, who also scored in last week's 3-0 win over Copenhagen, is the only Dortmund player to score more than once in the league.

We didn't see it at the weekdn, but this is an offensive unit that has a lot more fluidity and purpose than it did under Rose and they will feel that they can hurt a City side
