Man City 'undroppable' tipped to beat Arsenal’s top star to Premier League award

Peter Crouch has explained why Phil Foden's impact at Manchester City sees him deserve to be named the Premier League's Player of the Season.

Foden has been a key player for City all season, scoring 24 goals in all competitions, including 16 in the top flight. The 23-year-old has played in all but two Premier League fixtures for City this term, which both came in the recent wins over Crystal Palace and Luton Town, where he was an unused substitute.

Pep Guardiola has utilised Foden in a variety of positions for City this season, including in a No.10 role or on the wing. This term has seen Foden enjoy his most productive campaign in front of goal in his career, and that form has seen him in the conversation to win the Player of the Year Award.

Crouch has explained why Foden is deserving of the award, although he did mention other players who could be in the conversation. The former Liverpool striker explains why Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins deserve to be considered for the accolade.

"Yes. Of course, there are so many candidates," Crouch told TNT Sports when asked if Foden deserves to be named Premier League Player of the Season.

"I love watching [Martin] Odegaard playing football. There is Ollie Watkins and there are lots of players that are involved but Phil Foden, for me, has been the standout player.
