Man City told Atletico Madrid fixture gives Liverpool FC FA Cup semi-final advantage
Liverpool icon Ian Rush believes Manchester City's trip to Spain to face Atletico Madrid in the second-leg of their Champions League quarter-final will give his former club an advantage ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
The two sides will go head-to-head for the second time in less than a week for a place in the FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Crystal Palace next month. They produced a thrilling 2-2 draw when they met in their top-of-the-table clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, meaning excitement levels are already running high ahead of their latest meeting.
But before both City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp can focus on Saturday's semi-final showdown, they each have Champions League quarter-finals to fulfil. City face Atletico at the Wanda Metropolitano and Liverpool face Benfica at Anfield, with both sides ahead on aggregate after last week's first legs.

Travelling to and from Spain will, of course, be time consuming for City, whereas Liverpool are on home soil, meaning they do not have any travel time to concern them. And for former striker Rush, who won the FA Cup three times during his City career, it is the travelling that City have to do this week that could play into Liverpool's hands.
Rush told Gambling.com: "Can we expect another 2-2 draw when the sides meet again in the FA Cup this weekend? The game being in Wembley adds a different dimension but we can be sure both teams will be going all out to win the game so it should be another fine spectacle.
